The Worst Utterance in Homebrewing

I am pretty anal about checking all of my ball valves multiple times during the brewday (especially now that I brew in the kitchen as opposed to outdoors), and still every now and again I am "made aware" that I missed one. :(

Usually it's liquid hitting the floor, but recently it was crackling during the mash. It was the heating element scorching.

Just had this when transferring from the kettle into my Anvil fermenter. I spent the entire brew day taking apart, sanitizing and putting back together the fermenter and then when I transferred, I looked down and about a pints worth was on the floor because I didn’t close the fermenter ball valve and didn’t notice right away. Not fun to have a sticky floor to clean up
