Nukatap counter pressure bottle filler

Have you used a Nukatap?
I have a Blichmann beer gun which I like, but it requires dumping CO2 from the keg to drop the pressure to about 5 PSI. This is not ideal when the keg is near empty and I want to fill only a bottle or two.

I’m going to have to look into this. I have the Blichmann as well and pretty much hate it. For the reason you listed but also if I’m doing a large canning run, inevitably it pulls sediment from the bottom enough to clog the out line of the keg and then the keg is ruined. It’s happened to me 3x. I’m at the point where all I use it for is to purge cans and then I fill right off the tap of my kegerator.

DJ. KegLand has recently released an automated can and bottle filler

I have seen a Duo filler like this in action at a brewery. Unless you are bottling the counterpressure filler is not a good option in my opinion.

Though you could easily make your own for purge and fill canning solution since you are just filling off the tap.

I would attach a growler filler to your tap with a hose then zip tie an air line to the tap the same length with a on/off valve inline. Use that to purge the can and then pull the tap fill the can and seam.

Can purge and fill solution on the cheap.

I’ll have to check this out. I was also looking at the XPress fill on MoreBeer but the KegLand device is a better price point. And it’s a Cannular which is what my canning machine is.

I do currently use tubing that Fish gave me that I put up into the tap to fill just for a better flow rate. Before I fill I sanitize and then purge with the Blichmann gun then I fill. Probably not the most ideal process since air probably gets into the can in the few seconds between purging and putting the beer gun down to have both hands to fill. But it’s better than no purging at all. I just can’t justify using the Blichmann for liquid since I’ve had so many issues.
